There are three
"world's heritage
sites" in Bangladesh within such
a small land, only having an area of 144036
sq. km. Day1:
Early in the morning, leave Dhaka for Bogra
by road. On arrival, check in to hotel, and,
after lunch, visit the Paharpur Buddhist monastery
(8-12th Century AD), the biggest single
Vihara,
south of the Himalayas. You can pass some
time here in a relaxed atmosphere before going
back to hotel in the late afternoon for overnight.
Day
2: After breakfast, check out from
the hotel and visit the ruins of
Mahasthangar
(3rd Century BC), and then drive to Khulna.
On the way, visit the Hindu Temples at
Puthia
and cross the river Ganges by ferry boat.
On this day, packet lunch will be served.
Upon arrival in Khulna/Mongla in the evening,
check in to hotel/motel for overnight.
Day
3: After early breakfast, check out
from the hotel and drive to Bagerhat for sightseeing.
You will see an old mosque having sixty domes
(15th Century AD). Back to Mongla and board
the boat for the Sundarbans Forest. The boat
will start its journey towards the Forest
as soon as the guests are on board. After
collecting the Forest Permit and paying the
fees at Daingmari Forest Station, the boat
will start cruising towards the Forest. In
the evening, the boat will anchor at a suitable
place inside the forest. Overnight on the
boat inside the forest.
Day
4: Early in the morning, the boat
will resume its journey towards the Forest
and finally anchor the boat when it will arrive
Kotka. Forest activities, like walking in
the forest, walking on the beach, etc. will
be organized. Around late afternoon, the boat
will start its journey back towards Mongla,
and will stop near the Forest Station either
at Harintana or Supothi for overnight.
Day
5: Early in the morning, the boat
will resume its journey again, and, after
lunch, leave the boat at Mongla and drive
to Jessore Airport to take the afternoon flight
back to Dhaka.
